Alan is a high energy piano bar entertainer, ready to play all those songs you didn't know you needed to hear! But he used to be just one of those American kids growin' up in the heartland, while also practicing classical and jazz piano. He had his first professional experience in Chicago, focusing on piano rock with cover bands and original bands. Soon after, Alan started working as a musician on cruise ships, even before iPads existed, and also as musical director for The Second City and other comedy theaters.
Drawn to its deep musical history, Alan moved to New Orleans, and spent a number of years there ticklin' the ivories in bars, cafes, and hotels. He decided to become academic at the University of New Orleans and obtained a masters degree in music in 2021, focusing on popular music before the 1950s, before those fancy electric guitars became commonplace.
Always a globetrotter, Alan has no problem traveling to entertain audiences worldwide. After traveling and living in Latin America, his repertoire in Spanish is bigger than you would expect from an American kid. More recently, he has been in Nashville, home of country music and professional songwriting. Alan has original music in almost all of the genres that he frequently performs, including rock, pop, country, jazz, r&b, and musical theatre.
